These shots were taken by yours truly
on the shores of the world renown Waikiki Beach. Not only was this sunset breathtaking, but it also marked the end of a chapter
in my ohana's life. After living in Hawaii for over 30 years we decided to move away like thousands of other pacific islanders
to the 9th Hawaiian island of Las Vegas. This picture was taken on the evening of Novenber 29th, 2002 ... the very next morning
we left the islands behind for a new beginning. One thing for sure is we'll be back, hopefully sooner than later!

Hafa Adai to Leilani Cruz originally of Guam who
threw me back to my childhood days with her portraits. Take a ride east 15 miles from Waikiki towards this beach and "witness"
the most picturesque coastal drive on the island. The breathtaking Makapu'u beach lies in the shadows of the majestic Koolau
mountain Range. Makapu'u is considered the premiere bodysurfing beach in Hawaii. "Watch" as local legends show off their talents
in the water. Better yet "gaze" at local beauties walking by showing off their own talents if you know what I mean! It won't
be long before your "eyes" are distracted "makai" or "towards the sea." "Focus" on the famous "Rabbit Island" and "Turtle
Island" as they race on the horizon. And if you're thinking I know I "saw" this stretch of sand before, you just might have.
Makapu'u beach doubled as headquarters for the mega hit series Bay"watch" Hawaii! With all this "gawking" going on isn't ironic
that "Makapu'u" literally means "Bulging eyes!"

Muchos
gracias to Chrissy Winters of Las Vegas, Nevada for submitting these tropical snapshots of her recent getaway to Cancun. With
secluded shorelines and seductive settings like these no wonder Cancun has become one of the world's most popular Spring break
destinations.

I
stumbled upon Bill Taitano's work in Facebook. There's no other way I can explain his works, but simply "Breathtaking!"
There's so many other great shots he has captured and it's amazing. Bill graciously allows P2P to share 2 of
his photos. The left photo is entitled " Holding The Sun." The right photo, untitled,
is also incredible. It's a picture with his daughters in it. Bill simply said it makes his soul smile.
Mahalo nui loa Bill for sending these pictures in. I encourage everyone to view the rest of Bill's work at his official
website: www.taitanophotography.com

Mahalo nui loa to my sister Lisa Tancioco of Green Valley, Las Vegas for
blessing us with these 2 landmarks on the island of Oahu. The first is the H-3 freeway, less than a decade old which connects
central Oahu to the Windward coast of the islands. The plushness of the landscape conceals what was once considered a major
battle area for ancient Hawaiian warriors. "Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest." This statue of Jesus welcomes
both visitors and all who come to eternally rest here at the Mililani Cemetary. The peaceful grounds lie in the foothills
of Mililani, a small town acting as a gateway that eventually leads to the world famous North Shore.

"Dawning Of A Millennium"
Seems like it was just yesterday when the entire world was bracing for Y2K. What
would happen when the clock struck midnight? Would the world come to a stop? Part of the world watched in suspense as midnight
crept by and amazingly even our VCR stayed sane and refused to go haywire. Not much happened in regards to technology, but
much occured socially. The other part of the world welcomed the new century in with a bang, literally! Firework celebrations
and its reminisce temporarily covered the islands and removed Hawai'i off the world map. After some of the smoke settled the
sun broke through and in came the "Dawning of a New Millennium!" This picture of the first sunrise of the millennium in Hawai'i
was taken by J.R. of Kailua, Hawai'i from the shorlines of what some consider one of the world's most beautiful beach, Lanikai.
I'm posting a personal shot I took recently of Lanikai so you can make comparisons to "The Day After!"

From the heart land of the best coffee in the world
comes this next portrait of paradise. Dedicated listener Elike Thompson of Keei, Kona on the island of Hawai'i quickly isolates
these thunderheads looming over Mauna Loa in a camera shot before it drenches the land. Ironically this is a blessing to the
many coffee farmers who continuously desire fertile grounds for their money making crop.

"More beautiful shots in Hawaii.... wait a minute San Diego?"
When I first received these pictures the first thought that ran through my mind
was "Wow these are great shots of a rainbow and sunset from Downtown Honolulu." I stand corrected. True supporter of P2P,
Jessica Baskett snaps both shots on the same day in well not-so sunny San Diego. According to Jessica, captivating sunsets
are quite common in San Diego, but rainbows as such are a rare site to see.

No, there was no camera trick involved!
Bernadette Ildefonso of Aiea, Hawaii captured this magical sunset at where else but "Magic Island." It’s a man-made
peninsula that was constructed on the shallow reef at the east end of Ala Moana Park. Completed in 1964, it was given the
name Magic Island (though not an island at all) by commercial developers who intended it to be the site of a resort.
Just around the bend lies yet another snapshot of the magical Waikiki beach shoreline submitted by Jesse Fortney -Denver,
Colorado.

"From Hush 2 Plush"
I'm not sure exactly where these 2 shots are taken at, but personally it
looks like pictures of "Waimea Canyon" on the island of Kaua'i and "Waimea Falls" on the island of O'ahu. As the saying
goes "You don't know what you got, until its gone." So true as I look out of my bedroom window while typing this caption
and seeing nothing but desert sands. Las Vegas = Lucky.... think again!

"Operation Desert Storm...Literally"
Not only do our brave men and women have to put up with crazy oppositions
and insane temperatures, but also wicked Mother nature. If I may quote the religious Boywonder himself, Robin "
Holy Dust Storms Batman!"

"Surf Asia"
This cone shaped outcropping of lava off Kualoa Point resembles the peasant's
chapeau worn by rural Chinese - thus the name: Chinaman's Hat. You can see Chinaman's Hat from numerous vantage points along
the coast but the best view is to actually go out to the island. You can actually walk there during low tide but the best
way to get there is via kayak, or simply paddle your way out on a surfboard!

"Freebird"
These pictures says it all! Though the reality is that the "price of paradise"
can really weigh one down financially and limit many in soaring towards their hopes and dreams, sometimes I
tell myself maybe the trade off is all worth it. One day I'll return to stay. I miss you my Hawai'i!

"Lucky You Live Hawaii"
Whether it's a day alone just passing the time, sitting on the dock of the
bay or a memorable day in Paradise with your entire ohana (family). One things for sure there's no better place to experience
either than "Heaven on earth" - Hawaii!

"The Father Of Surfing"
Duke Kahanamoku, recognized as the "Hawaiian Ambassador of Aloha" was a
movie actor, political figure, and true hero for Hawaii. His statue is located on Waikiki Beach where many honor him by placing
leis on his statue.

"From Light To Night"
These pictures bring me back to my chilhood days. I remember almost everyday
throughout the Summer taking an hour trip on the city bus to world renown Waimea Bay. We would reach at about 8AM in
the morning, just as the sun slowly found its home in the sky and stay and play all day until the sun set at about 6:30-ish.
Bus ride = 25 cents; Happy Meal from McDonalds = $2; Enjoying a full day with Mother Ocean= Priceless!

"Sunrise Over Diamond Head"
I
was immediately drawn to this picture when I first saw it in Facebook. Joe Wilson said he took it from Ewa Beach.
Years ago I took one of the biggest steps in my life and proposed to my wife on Kaimana beach, a small stretch of shorline
fronting Diamond Head. Mahalo Joe Wilson for submitting this photo.
